What is This Tool?

The SAT composite score is simply the sum of your two section scores: Evidence-Based Reading & Writing (200-800) and Math (200-800), for a total range of 400-1600. This calculator also provides an approximate percentile ranking based on recent College Board data.

Worked Examples

1. Above-average scores

Given: EBRW: 650, Math: 700

Composite = 650 + 700 = 1350

Result: 1350 (approximately 91st percentile)

2. Perfect math, strong reading

Given: EBRW: 720, Math: 800

Composite = 720 + 800 = 1520

Result: 1520 (approximately 98th percentile)

3. Average scores

Given: EBRW: 530, Math: 520

Composite = 530 + 520 = 1050

Result: 1050 (approximately 50th percentile)
